Messy Church

Messy Church is held once a month when we encourage parents and children from the community to join us to enjoy learning new things from the Bible in new and innovative ways. We bake, cut and stick, glitter, cook and play games, and occasionally sing. The parents enjoy it as much, if not more, than the children! In fact some have come into a personal relationship with Jesus.

Messy Church is on every 1st Friday before Family Service 4.30 - 6pm

Sunday School

Raffles Community Church Sunday school started in 2006. When there seemed to be more and more children coming to church, there seemed to be a need to do something with them, and that this would help to retain them in church as they got older. Furthermore, we put together a program for the young children to go out half way through the service. They were still in the service for the worship and prayers as it is important for them to get used to church and being part of a church family.

As we work with young children who do not have much bible background knowledge, the topics that we have covered range from the character of God to Jesus and His ministry on Earth.

The reasoning behind this is to give the children background knowledge of what God has done through the Bible and what He did in sending Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sins and what our response is to this.

At present, there are lots of children ranging from ages 2-13, furthermore, there is now a need to split the children into age groups, however, this requires more volunteers as space, hence, the next challenge!!

Loaves and Fishes

The Loaves and Fishes was the beginning of the work on the Raffles Estate in 1992. Kath and her friend Fay thought it would be great to have a coffee afternoon on the estate and invite parents along. Although to their surprise the parents didn't come but their children did, Loaves and Fishes had started!

Kath and Fay soon realised that food was a big part of the children's need in the club along with lots of singing, bible stories, crafts and memorable visits to the seaside.

Sometimes the club was like Moses and Israelites wandering around from place to place. God has remained faithful; we have seen children saved and many children now adults come back to us for christenings.

Loaves and fishes has been revamped recently and is now called "The Club". It still has its ethos and bible stories which still play a main part of the club not to mention the food!

Every Wednesday at 3.30pm come and join us at Raffles Community Church for Club.

Bible Study

Every Wednesday evening from 7pm we tackle different issues relating to the Bible & Life. What does the Bible say about marriage, respect for property, and worship of God which were part of series based on the 10 commandments. More recently we have been looking at other religions and cults, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons etc.
The study consists of 30 - 40 minutes of teaching on the subject followed by splitting into groups to discuss the subject further.

Food is always served before the bible study which you are more than welcome to join us for at 6pm.
