Services
Our services are people friendly, child friendly, lively, some would say different! But primarily they are centred on people enjoying the presence of God, experiencing the peace of God and in addition, running at various times in the year, we offer Christianity Explored for adults; and for young people, a three series set of programmes called Cross Examination, Forward Momentum and Word on Word, each six weeks long.
Within the denomination we are a partner in the North Europe Field Partnership which links several churches across Northern Europe, including our own and ones based in Hungary, Poland, Scotland and Northern Ireland with Spokane Valley Nazarene Church in WA, USA.
Travelling in the light
25% of our congregation at Raffles Community Church are travellers. They are very comfortable coming along to our church, where they enjoy meeting with other travellers, fellowshipping and listening to God's word being preached. Those travellers attending our church are keen to reach out to their friends and family. Travelling in the light was set up in partnership with Light and life Church (travelling church across the UK) to reach the unchurched travellers, their friends and family.
Travelling in the light meets on the 1st Friday of every month at Raffles Community Church, at 7pm. These are always fantastic meetings, where we have seen God move among his people. We have seen over 20 people get saved over the time Travelling in the Light has been going at Raffles, and many more people wanting people for specific issues.
The meetings involve a time of praise and worship, testimonies of changed lives and a short message how people can know a real hope through having a relationship with Jesus Christ. These are up lifting meetings that are attended by all, young and old. In addition to these meetings we have also started a fortnightly bible study on Hadrian’s camp in Carlisle. These are looking at the parables of Jesus from the gospels.
Family Services
Every first Sunday of the month at Raffles Community Church we always have a fun and friendly themed service. They all vary from I'm a celebrity to Superheroes- action packed, and with a relevant message for today.
